1. Summary
ShopTradelines is an educational research platform. We do not repair credit, dispute items on consumer credit reports, or contact credit bureaus on a consumer's behalf. As such, we do not operate as a “credit repair organization” under the federal Credit Repair Organizations Act (15 U.S.C. § 1679 et seq.).
2. What CROA Is
The Credit Repair Organizations Act (CROA) is a federal law that regulates businesses that, for compensation, claim to improve a consumer's credit record, history, or rating. It imposes specific disclosure, contract, and conduct requirements on those businesses and prohibits charging consumers before services are fully performed, among other protections.
3. ShopTradelines Is Not a CRO
ShopTradelines does not claim or imply that any service offered or referenced on the Site will improve a consumer's credit record, history, or rating. Authorized-user tradelines are an educational topic covered on the Site; reporting and outcomes vary by issuer, bureau, and individual credit profile, and no specific result is promised or guaranteed.
4. What We Do Not Do
- We do not dispute information on consumer credit reports.
- We do not contact credit bureaus, lenders, or collection agencies on your behalf.
- We do not promise to remove accurate negative information from credit reports.
- We do not guarantee any credit score increase, loan approval, or financial outcome.
- We do not provide individualized legal, financial, tax, or credit-repair advice.
5. Your Consumer Rights
Federal law gives you several rights regarding your credit, regardless of whether a credit repair organization is involved:
- You have the right to dispute inaccurate information yourself, for free, with the credit bureaus and the information furnisher under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- You can obtain free credit reports annually from each nationwide credit bureau via annualcreditreport.com.
- You are not required to pay any company to assert your federal consumer-credit rights.
- You have the right to cancel any credit repair contract within three business days from the date you signed it, without charge, if you ever engage a true credit repair organization.
6. Your Right to File Complaints
Consumers who believe a company has violated CROA or other consumer-protection laws may file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) at consumerfinance.gov/complaint, the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov, or with the appropriate state attorney general.
