    Tradeline Comparison Calculator

Enter your current accounts, then compare ten example tradeline profiles to see how each would change two calculable numbers.

    By ShopTradelines Research Team

This tradeline comparison calculator lets you enter your existing revolving accounts — age, credit limit, and balance — and then compare ten example tradeline profiles side by side to see how each one would change two specific, calculable numbers: your average account age and your aggregate credit utilization ratio. Both figures are arithmetic derived from your inputs, so you can see the tradeline before and after math for each example without anyone guessing at an outcome for you.

Compare Tradelines Against Your Current Profile

Start by entering the accounts already on your credit report, then select any example profile to recalculate. The ten examples are grouped by the same tier characteristics published in our tradeline pricing guide.

Step 1 — Your current profile

    Enter Your Existing Revolving Accounts

Use any nickname you like — never enter a real card number, account number, or any identifying information. Nothing you type here is saved or sent anywhere.

    Nickname (optional)Age (yrs)Credit limitBalanceUtil.

    Current average account age

    Current utilization ratio

    $0 of $0 in limits

Enter your limits and balances to see your ratio

Step 2 — Compare example tradeline profiles

Select an Example Profile to See the Calculated Shift

Tier names describe the account characteristics only. A larger calculated shift in these two numbers is not a statement that one tier produces a better credit outcome than another.

    Entry-Level

    2–5 years of history · $5,000–$15,000 limits

    Mid-Range

    5–12 years of history · $15,000–$30,000 limits

    Premium

    12–25+ years of history · $30,000–$100,000+ limits

    Before and After

Select one of the ten example profiles above to see how your average account age and utilization ratio would be recalculated.

Important: this is not a score estimate

These figures are arithmetic only. No tradeline — from ShopTradelines or any other company — can guarantee a specific credit score increase. This comparison does not predict, estimate, or guarantee any credit score outcome, because scores are produced by proprietary models that weigh many factors beyond these two numbers.

What These Numbers Mean (and Don't Mean)

Average account age and credit utilization are both commonly cited as factors that scoring models consider. That is why this tool calculates them. What it does not do is model any scoring algorithm: it shows only the calculable shift in those two figures, and that shift is not a score, a point estimate, or a prediction of how any lender will read your file.

Real outcomes also depend on variables no calculator can see — issuer reporting practices, posting cycles, whether a lender weighs authorized user data at all, and the rest of your credit history. For the fuller treatment of what can go wrong and what authorized user accounts cannot do, read risks and limitations of authorized user tradelines.

Average account age and utilization ratio are exact arithmetic; a credit score is not.

A larger calculated shift does not mean a better credit outcome — only a bigger change in these two numbers.

The ten example profiles are hypothetical illustrations, not current listings.

Nothing entered into this tool is stored, transmitted, or retained.

If you only want to work through the balance-to-limit math on your existing cards, the credit utilization calculator handles that in isolation. For context on which characteristics tend to matter for different goals, see best tradelines to buy and aged tradelines. If cost is the deciding factor, read cheap tradelines before assuming a lower price means a smaller effect.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can this calculator tell me how many points my score will go up?

No. This tool never outputs a score number, a point range, or a predicted score change, and it is deliberately built that way. It calculates two figures that are pure arithmetic from what you enter: your average account age and your credit utilization ratio. Credit scores come from proprietary models that weigh many additional factors, so no calculator and no tradeline company can promise a specific point increase.

Why does the calculator only show account age and utilization, not a score?

Average account age and utilization can be computed exactly from your inputs — they are division problems, not model output. A credit score cannot be computed that way. Showing an estimated score would mean guessing at a proprietary algorithm and would imply a guaranteed outcome, which is something this site does not do anywhere. Limiting the output to calculable numbers keeps the tool honest.

Are the ten example tradelines available for purchase right now?

No. The ten profiles are illustrative examples built from the published tier ranges in our tradeline pricing guide, not live listings. They exist so you can see how different combinations of account age and credit limit change the math. Availability from independent providers changes constantly, so treat every example here as hypothetical.

What's the difference between this tool and the Credit Utilization Calculator?

The Credit Utilization Calculator focuses on one number: your balance-to-limit ratio card by card and in aggregate, with an open-ended field for any additional credit limit. This comparison tool adds account age to the inputs and lets you click through ten fixed example profiles to compare their calculated effect on two numbers side by side. Use the first for utilization math, the second for comparing profile characteristics.

Does a bigger credit limit always produce a bigger impact?

A bigger limit always produces a larger change in the utilization arithmetic, because it increases the denominator more. Whether that arithmetic change matters to a lender or a scoring model depends on your full profile — someone already at 3% utilization has little room for the ratio to improve, while someone at 70% sees a much larger calculated shift from the same added limit.

Does a higher-priced tradeline always help more than a cheaper one?

No. Price generally tracks account age and credit limit, but the calculated effect depends entirely on your existing accounts. If your file already holds long-standing accounts, an older example moves your average age very little. If your utilization is already low, a large added limit changes the ratio only slightly. The tool is designed to show that relationship rather than to rank the examples.

How accurate are these example tradeline profiles?

The age and limit combinations are drawn from the tier ranges published in our pricing guide, which reflect what is commonly listed across the marketplace. The arithmetic performed on them is exact. What the examples cannot reflect is real-world variables such as issuer reporting practices, posting timing, or how any individual lender treats authorized user data.

    Next Step: Check Your Profile

The examples above are hypothetical. If you want guidance tied to your own situation rather than a sample profile, the credit profile assessment walks through your goals and timeline with no credit pull required.
